Mamma Mia!

No, not the awful film (I say that as an ABBA fan, too) but to alert you to my completed Type 1 Italians:

Shows you how rough my figures are in close up! I’ve started taking photos of figures to show where I have to fill gaps etc., but they are good enough for what I want to do. Note the special guest appearance of my Eric Morecambe modelling specs.

I’m still very much in the experimental stage of this project, so need to chop up some more spare Type 1s for armatures. Heresy, I know, but I have lots in the loft and some crispy ones that will fulfil one last service before they crumble. All the armatures so far have been from the 8th Army set, but I’ve been eying up some useful poses in such diverse sets as cowboys, DAK, Confederates and Wagon Train. Rule Number 1, however, is to convert the basic plastic figures where possible to keep the John Sanders vibe going.
