Mohamed Salah was compared to Kenny Dalglish and hailed as 'the best in the world' after breaking yet another Liverpool record.
It is hard to argue there is anyone better than Salah right now, as he scored in his ninth consecutive game for the club in their Champions League group stage victory over Atletico Madrid.
Salah has scored in nine straight games for Liverpool
No other Liverpool player has enjoyed such a remarkable run, with his double in Spain helping down the Spanish champions 3-2.
Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino - and boyhood Liverpool fan - heaped huge praise on Salah and compared him to a Reds icon.
Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, Cascarino said: "I support Liverpool and I've always said King Kenny [is the best]. They always talk about European player of the year and I say anyone who gets past King Kenny is going to be a hell of a player.
"Now I feel like it is super King Mo who has come about because even being put alongside that calibre of player is a statement in itself.
Salah's double helped Liverpool beat Atletico
"Kenny was up there with the all-time legends of Division 1 football in England."
The 29-year-old already has 12 goals in 11 games this season and is in with a chance of winning the Ballon d'Or, according to Liverpool legend Didi Hamann.
The 2005 Istanbul hero told talkSPORT: "There's no doubt about it. You see his goals against City, the one against Watford was even better. He's scored in nine consecutive games now.
"He gets compared at Liverpool to John Aldridge, Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Fernando Torres and others. He gets compared to them and gets the same or better figures than these guys and he's a wide player. He's not even a centre forward.
"His stats and figures since he joined the club are absolutely ridiculous.
"I know Lewandowski beat Muller's record of 41 goals last season, on current form you have to say he's the best.
Salah already has 12 goals this season
"Has he done enough to win the Ballon d'Or? Other people have to decide but he's certainly in the mix."
talkSPORT host Jason Cundy was in agreement that Salah is one of the best players in the world right now.
After stunning solo goals against Man City and Watford, the ex-Chelsea defender was impressed once again with the goal the Egypt forward scored against Atletico Madrid, saying he still had plenty to do.
"They're a brilliant side. They move the ball so quickly," Cundy said on The Sports Bar.
"The goal Salah scored, if you look at what he had to do he's had to do a lot. He's on that right hand side and the cross is slightly overhit and he had to pick it up on the byline.
"Okay he's got a 1-v-1 and cuts inside, but once he dances on the edge of the box you are saying don't let him get on his left foot.
"Edge of the box he drills it, gets a little bit of good luck, but that's the player he is right now. He's one of the best anywhere you can find right now.
"When you are that good you sometimes find you get those little strokes of luck."
Salah is the best player in world football right now
There are reports that Salah is in contract negotiations with Liverpool over an extension to his current deal.
He is on a reported £200,000-a-week and not even the highest paid player at Anfield, let alone the Premier League.
And former Premier League star Gabby Agbonlahor believes Salah is deserving to be the best paid player in the league.
The ex-Aston Villa captain told Breakfast: "If I'm Mo Salah now, I want £1 more than the highest paid player in the Premier League.
"If you don't give it to me then I will go somewhere that will. I'm that important to Liverpool at the moment, without me in that team Liverpool haven't got a chance of winning the Premier League or Champions League.
Mo Salah wants £400k-a-week to stay at Liverpool
"Mo Salah is that good and that important for Liverpool he deserves to be paid what he wants to be paid.
"Mo Salah is that important, he's the best player in the world, I don't know how people can put Lewandowski in the same bracket.
"Salah is doing it in the biggest league in the world, the hardest league in the world, a lot harder than the German league, and I want to be paid exactly what I deserve.
"If Ronaldo is on £500,000-a-week, I want £501,000-a-week, because I'm that important to the team.
He added: "He deserves to be the best paid player in the Premier League."
